ABOUT ANDREW GLOSE
Guitar, Bass, & Percussion Instructor
Andrew James Glose is a multi-instrumentalist born in Vicenza, Italy. After brief stays in Turkey and Washington state as a child, he settled in Diamondhead, MS, at the age of eight. Andrew began his musical journey in the sixth grade playing clarinet and over the course of grade school played tenor saxophone and french horn for orchestral ensemble. In middle school he began studying electric bass and guitar while performing in local rock bands. During his four years in high school, Andrew participated in marching and indoor percussion ensemble playing the tenor drums. In 2005, he entered the Jazz Studies program at the University of Southern Mississippi. During college, Andrew gained experience performing in multiple major and small ensembles, including Jazz Lab Band, University Singers Choir, and many small jazz ensembles, graduating with honors in 2009. In 2013, he began writing, producing, and performing original music as The 86 Olympics with band mate Jaime Jimenez and has since self-produced and released five albums. From 2019 to early 2020 he was the sole house performer on vocals and guitar at the Hattiesburg Hilton Garden Inn. He continues to perform in professional musicals such as Grease, Annie, School of Rock, and Return to Forbidden Planet, and also with professional live entertainment acts such as singer Dian Diaz at the Beau Rivage and the Blue Earth Productions D-Play band. He is the current Drumline Instructor for West Marion High School in Foxworth MS.
